What is an SSL certificate?
An SSL certificate (technically a TLS certificate) proves your website's identity and lets browsers connect to it over an encrypted HTTPS connection. It's issued by a trusted certificate authority after checking you control the domain, and, for business certificates, that your organisation is real.
Without it, browsers mark your site "Not secure", forms and passwords travel in plain text, and many visitors leave. With it, data between the visitor and your site is encrypted, and the browser shows that the connection is secure.
The certificate is the easy part. Installing it correctly, redirecting every page to HTTPS, fixing mixed content and keeping it renewed are what we take care of.

Certificate lifetimes are getting shorter
Browser makers and certificate authorities agreed to cut the maximum life of SSL certificates in stages. You still buy a yearly plan; the certificate inside it is simply reissued more often.

What is an SSL certificate?+
A digital certificate, technically a TLS certificate, that proves your website's identity and lets browsers connect to it securely over HTTPS, encrypting data between visitors and your site.
How much does an SSL certificate cost?+

Why should I pay when free SSL certificates exist?+
Free certificates encrypt just as well and suit many sites. Paid plans add organisation validation, wildcard and multi-domain options, a certificate authority warranty, and with us, installation, monitoring and reissue handled for you.
What's the difference between DV, OV and EV?+
All encrypt the same way. DV checks only that you control the domain. OV also verifies your registered organisation. EV adds stricter legal and operational checks. OV and EV show your company name in the certificate details.
What is a wildcard SSL certificate?+
One certificate that secures your main domain and all its subdomains at one level, like shop.yourbrand.com and app.yourbrand.com, so you don't need separate certificates.
How long does it take to get SSL?+
Domain SSL is usually issued within minutes of validation. Business SSL takes 1 to 3 days, and EV 3 to 7 days, depending on document checks.
Why are SSL certificates valid for less than a year now?+
The industry agreed to shorten maximum certificate lifetimes: 200 days from 15 March 2026, 100 days from 15 March 2027 and 47 days from 15 March 2029. Your plan is still yearly; we reissue and reinstall the certificate as often as needed.
Will my site show a padlock?+
Yes. Browsers show that the connection is secure. Some, like Chrome, now use a settings-style icon instead of a padlock, but the connection is shown as secure either way.
Do you install the certificate?+
Yes, free. We install it on your hosting panel, server or CDN, set up the HTTP to HTTPS redirect and fix mixed-content warnings.
Can you install SSL if my website is hosted elsewhere?+
Yes. Share access to your hosting panel or server, or we guide your hosting provider through it.
What is mixed content?+
When an HTTPS page loads images, scripts or styles over plain HTTP. Browsers may block them or drop the padlock. We find and fix these after installation.
Does SSL help SEO?+
HTTPS is a confirmed Google ranking signal, and it prevents browser warnings that drive visitors away.
Is SSL required for online payments?+
Yes. Payment gateways and card security standards require HTTPS on any page that collects payment or personal data.
What happens if my SSL expires?+
Browsers show a full-page security warning and most visitors leave. Our monitoring and automatic reissue are designed to prevent that.
Can one certificate cover several different domains?+
Yes, a multi-domain (SAN) certificate can cover several different domain names. We quote these based on the number of domains.
What do I need for Business SSL (OV) verification?+
Your company's registration details, such as a certificate of incorporation or GST certificate, a matching business address and phone number, and a quick verification call or email.
Does SSL protect my website from hacking?+
No. SSL encrypts the connection, but it doesn't stop malware, weak passwords or outdated plugins. Combine it with updates, backups and good hosting.
Can I move my SSL if I change hosting?+
Yes. We reissue and reinstall the certificate on your new hosting during the plan at no extra cost.
