Quick answer

Google Search ads management services: the short answer

Google Search ads management is the planning and weekly running of your text ads on Google Search: choosing keywords and match types, grouping them into tight themes, writing ads and assets, improving Quality Score so you pay less per click, picking the right bid strategy, and reviewing the actual searches that trigger your ads so budget only goes to buyers. With iBACT Digital, management costs ₹7,999 a month (ad spend up to ₹50,000), ₹14,999 (up to ₹2 lakh) or 10% of ad spend, minimum ₹24,999, plus GST. Your ad budget is paid directly to Google, and there is no lock-in.

How it works

How Google Search ads work

When someone searches, Google runs a quick auction among advertisers whose keywords match that search. It doesn't simply pick the highest bid. Your position depends on your Ad Rank, which combines your bid, the quality of your ad and landing page, the expected effect of your assets (such as sitelinks and call buttons) and the context of the search, like location and device.

That's why a well-managed account can appear above a competitor who bids more, and pay less per click. You pay only when someone clicks. Good management is about making every part of Ad Rank stronger while making sure the searches you pay for are the right ones.

Your bidWhat you'll pay

Keywords and match types: how we decide what you pay for

A keyword's match type controls which searches can trigger your ad. Getting this wrong is the most common reason Search budgets disappear.

Match typeKeyword exampleCan show forHow we use it
Exact[pest control pune]Searches with the same meaning, like "pune pest control"For proven, high-value searches where you want tight control
Phrase"pest control service"Searches that include the meaning, like "best pest control service in Kothrud"The main workhorse for most service businesses
Broadpest controlRelated searches, like "cockroach treatment cost"Only with smart bidding, good conversion data and strong negatives
Negative-jobs, -course, -freeBlocks these searchesShared lists from day one, updated every week
Structure

How we structure Search campaigns

Brand campaign

Searches for your business name, usually the cheapest clicks, kept separate so they don't flatter other results.

Service campaigns

One campaign per main service, with ad groups for each theme, so budgets match what each service is worth.

Location campaigns

Separate budgets for cities or branches when costs and demand differ.

Competitor terms

Optional, tested carefully: bidding on competitor names is allowed, but using their trademarks in ad text is restricted.

Call-focused ads

For urgent services, ads built around a call button and scheduled for answering hours.

Remarketing lists

Past visitors added to Search campaigns so we can bid differently when they search again.

Ads & assets

Ad copy and assets we write for every ad group

A responsive search ad can have up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions. Google mixes them for each search, so every line has to work on its own.

Headlines and descriptions

  • The keyword theme and your city in the first headline
  • A starting price or offer, if you can share it
  • Proof: years in business, licences, ratings you genuinely have
  • A clear next step: call now, WhatsApp, book a visit

Assets that win more space

  • Sitelinks to key services or pricing
  • Callouts like "Same-day visit" or "No hidden charges"
  • Structured snippets listing services or brands
  • Call, location, image, price and promotion assets
Quality Score

Quality Score: how we help you pay less per click

Quality Score is Google's 1 to 10 rating of how relevant your keywords, ads and landing pages are. Higher quality usually means better positions at a lower cost per click.

ComponentWhat Google looks atWhat we do
Expected click-through rateHow likely people are to click your ad for that keywordSharper headlines, offers and assets; pausing weak ads
Ad relevanceHow closely the ad matches the searchTight ad groups with ads written for each theme
Landing page experienceWhether the page is relevant, fast and usefulMatching pages to ad groups, speed and content fixes
Bidding

Bidding strategies: which one, and when

StrategyWhat it doesWhen we use it
Maximise clicksGets the most clicks for the budgetBriefly, for brand-new accounts with no conversion data
Maximise conversionsGets the most conversions for the budgetOnce calls, WhatsApp clicks and forms are tracked properly
Target CPAAims for an average cost per leadWhen the account has steady conversions every month
Maximise conversion value / Target ROASAims for revenue, not just number of salesOnline stores and businesses with different lead values
Manual CPCYou set every bid yourselfRarely, for special cases needing strict control

Smart bidding only works as well as the conversion data it gets, so tracking always comes first.

Search terms

Search-term reviews: an example of the weekly work

Every week we read what people actually searched before clicking, and decide what to do with each. For a pest control business in Pune, a typical week might look like this:

Search that triggered the adDecisionWhy
termite treatment cost puneAdd as a keywordHigh intent; deserves its own ad and bid
pest control near meKeepConverting well
pest control jobs puneAdd negative: jobsJob seekers, not customers
how to kill cockroaches at homeAdd negative: how toDIY research
pest control mumbaiAdd negative: mumbaiOutside the service area

Mistakes

Google Search ads mistakes that waste money

  • Broad match keywords without smart bidding or negatives.
  • Hundreds of keywords in one ad group with one generic ad.
  • Leaving the Display Network switched on in a Search campaign.
  • No sitelinks, callouts or call assets, so ads look small next to competitors.
  • Smart bidding with broken or missing conversion tracking.
  • Never reading the search-terms report.

FAQs

Google Search ads management: frequently asked questions

What are Google Search ads?

Text ads that appear above and below Google search results when someone searches for words related to your business. They are marked as sponsored, and you pay only when someone clicks.

What do Google Search ads management services include?

Keyword research, match types and negatives, campaign and ad group structure, ad copy and assets, conversion tracking, bid strategy, Quality Score and landing page improvements, weekly search-term reviews and monthly reports.

How much do Google Search ads management services cost?

With iBACT Digital, ₹7,999 a month for ad spend up to ₹50,000, ₹14,999 a month up to ₹2 lakh, and 10% of ad spend with a ₹24,999 minimum above that, plus 18% GST. The ad budget is separate and paid directly to Google.

How does Google decide which ad shows first?

By Ad Rank, which combines your bid, the quality of your ad and landing page, the expected impact of your assets and the context of the search. A relevant, high-quality ad can rank above a competitor who bids more.

What is Quality Score?

A 1 to 10 rating Google gives each keyword based on expected click-through rate, ad relevance and landing page experience. Improving it usually lowers your cost per click and improves your position.

Which match type should I use?

It depends on the keyword and your data. We usually start with phrase and exact match for core services, and use broad match only with smart bidding, solid conversion tracking and strong negative keyword lists.

What are negative keywords?

Words that stop your ad showing for unwanted searches, such as jobs, free, course or cities you don't serve. We add them from day one and update them every week from the search-terms report.

How many keywords do I need?

Fewer than most people think. A focused set of high-intent keywords grouped into tight themes usually beats hundreds of loose keywords. We build the list around what your customers actually search.

Which bid strategy is best for Search ads?

For most lead-generation accounts, Maximise conversions once tracking works, moving to Target CPA when there are steady conversions. Online stores usually use conversion value or Target ROAS. New accounts sometimes start with Maximise clicks briefly.

How much does a click cost on Google Search?

It depends on the keyword, industry, city and competition. Some local service searches cost a few rupees, while loans, insurance, legal and real estate can cost far more. We estimate costs for your keywords in the free plan.

Should I bid on my own brand name?

Often yes. Brand clicks are usually cheap, they protect your name from competitors, and they let you control the message. We keep brand in a separate campaign so it doesn't hide the true cost of new customers.

Can I bid on competitor names?

Google allows competitor names as keywords, but using another company's trademark in your ad text is restricted. These campaigns often have lower Quality Score, so we test them carefully.

Search ads or Performance Max: which is better?

Search gives you control over keywords and exact searches and is the best place to start. Performance Max adds reach across Google with less control. Many accounts run Search first and add Performance Max once conversions are steady.

Do you write the ads?

Yes. We write responsive search ads with up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions for each ad group, plus sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets, call and location assets, and test them over time.

Can Search ads show only in my city?

Yes. We target cities, a radius around your location or pin codes, and set the location option so ads show to people actually in your area.

How long before Search ads work?

Ads can get clicks and enquiries within days. The first 2 to 4 weeks are for cleaning search terms and letting bidding learn; cost per lead usually improves over the first 3 months.

Do I need a landing page for Search ads?

A relevant, fast page for each main service gives the best Quality Score and conversion rate. We review your pages and can build focused landing pages if needed.

Can you take over my existing Search campaigns?

Yes. We audit the keywords, match types, search terms, settings and tracking, keep what works and fix the rest without losing your account history.

Is there a lock-in period?

No. Plans are month to month. We recommend at least 3 months for keywords, Quality Score and bidding to settle.

Who owns the account and keywords?

You do. The Google Ads account is in your name and we work through a manager account link. Your keywords, ads, data and history stay with you.
